oberfw. Kurt Laver

Hello all
Just got a note from unknown report that;
On 14/4 3/KG z.b.V1 reported that a certain oberfw. Kurt Laver of II/ stuka 2 had crashed a Ju 52. marked 1Z+LU on 13/4 near Dubrovnik and had been killed. A/C was burned and bombs blew up.
Unfortunately no info regarding this (not even a year) so if you know anything I would appreciate it very much.
as always, thx in advance
Antun

JoMe,

Is the CAUSE of the accident reported? Engine fire? AA (Flak)? Enemy fighters? Crashed into terrain due to poor weather (on IFR)? It would be interesting to know, since the Ju 52 could apparently fly on two engines..Just for curiosity.

Re: oberfw. Kurt Laver

I thought they only carried fuel and other stuff inside the "Old Tante Ju"...not bombs!
Poor boys, the plane had to carry some kind of "emergency landing" and just blew up.
Was the StG 2 man taking a "lift" back to ops?

Thank you LEO for the reasons of the accident and dismise of this crew.
