"Bedingt bereit" flying personnel
Hello,
In Luftwaffe documents with units' OOB the flying personnel are divided into combat-ready, conditionally combat-ready (bedingt bereit) and non-ready. What exactly does "bedingt bereit" mean? And do these figures include the wounded and sick who remained in their units, who were in hospitals within their air fleet and outside it? Best regards, Andrey |
Re: "Bedingt bereit" flying personnel
E.g. without night flying skills.

Re: "Bedingt bereit" flying personnel
Hello Robert,
"without night flying skills" - even in JG units? Best regards, Andrey |
Re: "Bedingt bereit" flying personnel
This could have many reasons. Some might only be qualified for liason duties, not completely trained etc.

Re: "Bedingt bereit" flying personnel
Thank you, John!
Do you know if these numbers include the wounded and sick? Best regards, Andrey |
Re: "Bedingt bereit" flying personnel
I believe they would be included in the non-ready.

Re: "Bedingt bereit" flying personnel
Unlikely, since data on JG units usually don't include non-ready pilots at all.

Re: "Bedingt bereit" flying personnel
John is correct with his statement.

Re: "Bedingt bereit" flying personnel
John and Robert, you are right.
I was confused by tables from JFV. As it turned out, non-ready pilots are shown there as "bed. bereit". Best regards, Andrey |
