Some JG2 claims in 1942
Hi,
I`m looking for further information concerning the following claims of JG2: - on the 8th January 1942 Erich Leie claimed one Hudson shot down. Who was his opponent? - on the 13.02.42 Lt.Horn from the 3/JG2 claimed another Hudson shot down. Who was his opponent? - on 4th February 1942 Fw.Helmut Baudach forced a Whitley to land on Ile d`Ouessant. From which british unit came this plane? - during short stay in Holland Fw.Baudach claimed on the 15.03.42 one Blenheim shot down. Who was his opponent? TIA Regards Robert |
Re: Some JG2 claims in 1942
Robert,
For the moment I can only find one possible aircraft in your list - Hudson V8993 of 279 Sqn was lost on an ASR search over the North Sea on 13.02.42 |

Hi Larry,
thanks for this information. Do you have a take-off time of this plane? Regards Robert |
Re: Some JG2 claims in 1942
Hi Robert,
Fw Baudach also claimed a Spitfire on 15 March 1942 at 14.02 hours over Holland. This was Spitfire V of 1401 Met. Flight, X4503, which crashed near Lopik. Pilot W/C Forbes was kia. His other claim on 15 March 1942 was at 18.00 hours; other sources state 16.35 hours. Also see: http://www.luftwaffe.cz/baudach.html I also have the other claims listed, but alas no further details. Who can provide more info? Best wishes Rob |

Re: Some JG2 claims in 1942
Hi,
Regarding the Blenheim you mention on 15th March 1942, I am unable to find any Blenheim loss on that date which might be the one in question. Good luck in your search for the other aircraft. |
