Remains of a Do-217 found near Papilė-Lithuania

Hello. Remains of a Do-217 was found near Papilė-Lithuania and it looks like the aircraft was a nightfighter given that it has some skin parts painted in black. Can anybody have such a loss record from there? Regards.

I would be inclined to think that the machine was from one of the Nachtaufkl.St. used in the East versus a nightfighter.

Possibly this:

1944-09-22, 2. Nachtaufkl.St. (FAGr. 2), Do 217 M-1, 326219, K7+EK, (Raum Papile, 42 kn nordwestlich Schaulen)
Flugzeugführer Fhj-Ofw Anzengruber, Franz, verletzt
Absturz. Bruch 100 %. Besatzung mit Fallschirm abgesprungen. Fhj-Ofw Anzengruber in ein Minenfeld geriet.

Note Matti says possibly. I would agree that this appears a good match but a date/Wk Nr/crew name or variant would help it go from possibly to probably

Bagvan,

If you find something that matches the werknummer or codes, or the positive ID of the machine, please do keep us informed, ok?

A.

It is surely a Dornier (have a placard with part number starting with Do) and it is Do217 (a fuselage piece has a part number starting with 217).

I just saw that one of the parts have a handwritten number and though not all numbers are visible, it definitely ends with 113. In Ju87s, the WNr is handwritten on many parts such as map cases, back of fuselage skins, etc. It may be the same here.

I can see no Do 217 losses with the Wk Nr 113. This is probably a component number not the aircraft Wk Nr

From my experience, part/component numbers are written using a template, therefore they have a standard format. The part number, the one that starts with 217 in this wreck was also written like that.

The number 113 however is handwritten with a brush simlar to those I saw in Ju87s.
