German MACR

I have researched and obtained a copy of MACR #726 (USAF report). I was told that there may be a German MACR for american planes. How and where can I get one for A/C 42-3437 shot down on 15 Sept 1943 Pilot 1st Lt James V Richardson.

Thank you
Berk

These documents can be found at NARA II, RG No.242, Records of the German Air Force Commands Luftgaukommandos.

Re: German MACR

Jaap,
I went there to get an escape and evade report on a crewmember of my uncles plane. Wish I had that information then. I am going back in a couple of weeks. Will look for this report then.

Thank you,
Berk

Re: German MACR

Jaap Woortman,
Went to NARA II . They had no idea what RG NO. 242 referenced to. Can you elaborate in what information this is for when I go back? Supposedly information on my uncle and plane was supposed to be under KU 172. But that folder was missing in the boxs of records they pulled for me. Don't know what KU stands for. In a lot of these folders were just dog tags.

Jaap Woortman,
The research assistants at NARA II do a great job in helping people. And in my case spent a lot of time trying to help me. Thank you for this information. It should help them to help me and same us both some time.

Thanks again,
Berk

Re: German MACR

ron Ra,
There may be a MACR report but it was not in the boxes they pulled for me. They pulled four boxes. One was in german. I do not know what it said. Another had folders listed by Ku numbers. Most only had a single dog tag in them. I was looking for KU 172. It was not in there. The other two boxes had no reference to what I was looking for. Ran out of time to request more info. Will have to go back. It takes time to get records pulled. And they told me you could not phone ahead so they would be pulled when you got there.
