Re: War Prizes by Phil Butler - revised and updated
Hello,
The OZ perspective: I pre-ordered a copy of War Prizes from Book Depository on Thursday, 16 June, 2022*. I was charged AUS$43.73 (post free), which I very promptly paid with my credit card, and hastily forgot about it. The book was delivered to my Post Office box in OZ, on Wednesday, 2 November, 2022. No problems. I'm not suggesting this should be done in all cases, but in this instance, it worked fine. There are risks. * Book Depository quoted 138 days to go at the time. They are now asking AUS$106.40!!! Col. |
Re: War Prizes by Phil Butler - revised and updated
If someone on the so-called "secondary market" is paying attention, the price of certain specialist books will go up, especially if they can confirm no additional copies will be printed. Whether or not people will pay the increased price tends to moderate things. Example: I bought a book for $30, watched it go to $300 and then gradually float back down.
