80 years ago crashed the Hungarian vice regent, 1st. Lt. István Horthy
80 years ago on 20 August, 1942 1st Lieutenant (reserve) István Horthy, vice regent of Hungary crashed on the Eastern Front with an Italian-made Re.2000 fighter aircraft during his 25th operational sortie shortly after takeoff, when he pulled up too steeply and his aircraft stalled and crashed. He was a staunchly pro-Allied politician who even worked for the Ford Company in Dearborn for a year at the end of the 1920s so many conspiracy theories surfaced immediately after his death. This video is about his life and death with English subtitles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfo_bDTr4AM
