Unteroffizier Fritz Bosl 8./KG 2 & 4./KG 2
Hello,
Last year I purchased a copy of the Flugbuch of above-mentioned person. Does anyone have information on this person and in which crews did he fly exactly? Or can someone point to books/sources in which he is mentioned? Kind regards, Timon |

Does he not mention his crew in the FB? No major awards nor any mention as being a casualty with Do 17s, Do 217s or Ju 188s

Re: Unteroffizier Fritz Bosl 8./KG 2 & 4./KG 2
In 8./KG 2 I believe the logbook says pilot Uffz Hunse.
In 4./KG 2 he mostly flew with Leutnant Horst Becker (many flights in Ju 188 U5+BM). That aircraft failed to return 14/15 March 1944. Apparently (the by now Feldwebel) Bosl did not take part in that operation. His last flight with Lt Becker in U5+BM was in the afternoon of 13 March '44. Regards, Timon |

I can see no mention of an Uffz Hunse and you know what happened to Becker

Thanks for your reply. What's moreover interesting is that he flew in Do 217 E-4 U5+LS (which is illustrated in your book Do 217 units of World War 2: profile 9) on
(1942) October 14, 21, 24, 26, 28, 29, 31 November 5, 8, 12, 15, 22, 24 December 3, 30 (1943) January 3, 13, 17, 18, 21, 26, 27 February 2, 7, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16 Regards, Timon |
Re: Unteroffizier Fritz Bosl 8./KG 2 & 4./KG 2
I figured the name is actually Haase, which makes Unteroffier Wilhelm Haase, later Feldwebel.
He received the Ehrenpokal during the winter of 43-44 and apparently survived the war though was injured on 9-10 March 1943 when U5+LS was destroyed in a crash-landing. Was 8./KG 2 the only unit he served in or were there more? Regards, Timon |
