Hudson vs. Condor

Hi

On 23 July 1941 Hudson Mk V, AM536 from sqn. 233 shot down a FW 200 condor in the atlantic. Was this a unique victory, or was there any other Hudson kills.
What exactly was the CC Hudson V anarment.

Cheers
Nick

Hi
Hudson units claimed a considerable number of air to air victories during the early years of WW2 - check out "Fledgeling Eagles" C.F.Shores & co,
"Attacker" by G.Jones and the wartime Coastal Command books

Hi.
Do you know if was a kill for the pilot of the Hudson with his limited forward firing browning or was it by his gunner with an equally limited set of weapons?
Great achievement by the Hudson crew.

Re: Hudson vs. Condor

Hi

Seems like there was firered from both the forward firing weapon and the turret, as well as the ventral gun. The pilot however mentions that he was not sure if he hit the condor with he weapon and the ventral gun joint in late, so what I make out of it is that it was mostly the turret gunner that hit.
