7./KG 26 lost 2. May 1945 Norwegian
Hello to all. One more question from me.
On 2nd May 1945 was one bomber from 7./KG 26 lost during attack on allied convoy. Feldwebel Josef Proske (18.12.1916 Kl. Hoschütz) was killed. Which airplane did he flown on this mission? Best wishes Miro |
Re: 7./KG 26 lost 2. May 1945 Norwegian
The plane was a Junkers Ju 188A-3 torpedo conversion. Unfortunately, I have no W.Nr. or unit code for this aircraft. They were on a transfer flight from Vaernes airfield (near Trondheim) to Bardufoss airfield on 2 May 1945, when the plane was reported missing over open sea off Narvik.
The whole crew was reported killed. Hptm. Friedrich Wilhelm Gehring (Staffelkapitän) Ofw. Willie Drabe Fw. Benno Boksch Uffz. Walter Peters Fw. Peter Proske You have Josef Proske, so I hope someone can verify what is correct. |
