Trying to identify EKM No. 69021/

Hi as the heading title suggests I'm trying to establish which unit used the EKM.No 69021/
I had a Mob. No. Finder website but it appears to be discontinued or down at present!
Any help appreciated.
Steve.

Stab I./ZG 52 issued these numbers in April 1940....what is the complete number?

Hi John many thanks for confirming this EKM. No.

The number 69021/3 was issued to Lt.Gerhard Borrmann KIA 27.5.40 when serving with 2/ZG52. A unit I'm very interested in at present, but challenging finding information and photos!
Do you have any other EKM No's for this unit.
Kindest regs,
Steve.

Don't know whether you already have this information, Steve, but for what it's worth...
Messerschmitt Bf110C. Shot down in combat with fighters of Nos. 56, 145, 601, and 610 Squadrons and crashed in the sea off Dunkirk 7.20 p.m. Possibly that claimed by S/L Franks of No. 610 Squadron. Pilot Lt Gerhard Borrmann and Bordfunker Uffz Hans Riebesell killed. The body of Gerhard Borrmann was washed ashore near Calais on June 8, that of Hans Riebesell coming ashore near La Panne eleven days later.

Re: Trying to identify EKM No. 69021/

69021/1 = Maj. Wilhelm Leßmann
69021/2 = Lt. Christian-Friedrich von Neumann
69021/3 = Lt. Gerhard Borrmann
69021/5 = Uffz. Hermann Laudemann
69021/7 = Uffz. Franz Beckel

Only 7 EM's in this range were handed out. I do not know who got /4 and /6.
John

Re: Trying to identify EKM No. 69021/

As you may know 69023 was the number for 2./ZG 52....so if your interest is in that Staffel you should chase that number. At least the first couple of dozen numbers which were issued in April 1940.

Re: Trying to identify EKM No. 69021/

Thanks John, I have got this number for 2/ZG52 but have a general interest in all staffeln of ZG52.

Just as a matter of interest I noticed I have the EKM.No. 69022 for both StabI/ZG52 and 1/ZG52. I wonder if the StabI/ZG52 No. is a typo or was shared originally?
Best regs,
Steve.
