Unknown bomber-unknown war
Hi all,
Found this photo at a flea market and my arabic is not that good... perhaps a Forum member can translate...? And what kind of Bomber do we have here? I guess it's a post-2WW photo, 1948 Arab-Israeli War? Thanks for your input! Hans |
Re: Unknown bomber-unknown war
Perhaps more "readable" this way...

Re: Unknown bomber-unknown war
Too small image but look like Wellington.

Re: Unknown bomber-unknown war
Definitely Wellington, the bombs are early war British, the scenery looks fairly English too, what can be seen of it.

Re: Unknown bomber-unknown war
Thanks for your replies! Now, why an arabic text and what does it mean? Probably nothing exciting, but still...

Re: Unknown bomber-unknown war
Yes, it is typical Wellington shape.

Re: Unknown bomber-unknown war
My guess is that it is a Wellington based in England early WWII.

Re: Unknown bomber-unknown war
:) Yes it is definately a Wellington possibly a Mk10.
I have an almost identical photo in the book"Halifax & Wellingtons" by Brian J Rapier & Chaz Bower which states the airfield being Mildenhall in England and the Squadron was 149 Sqdn.in WW11. daKota |
Re: Unknown bomber-unknown war
They are definately Wellingtons as the text corrobarates. The text is just a descripyive and translates as "Loading some British Wellington aircraft with bombs"

Re: Unknown bomber-unknown war
