Hello Jan,

Interesting pictures - any idea where and when these were taken?

Holá Jan,
what a splendent surprise on a sunday afternoon. It seems your photos are a mix of I.JG76 and I.JG21, but of course they all turned later into JG 54.
I sincerely hope you will continue with posting more photos of JG 54 out of your collection. Please send me an e-mail on this subject. I am at
present working on my private virtual photografing history of JG 54.

Rob, as far as I could make up on the first quick view, the second photo of set1 was taken in front of Rhein Main Zeppelin Halle in Frankfurt/Main
and shows a bf109e of 1.JG 76.

Greetings from the Costa Blanca, Alonso will be champion-

Hi Rob and Hihotte,

indeed some of the photo's were taken at Rhein Main but I have no further info on the rest of the photo's.

Not surprisingly off course that some of the Bf-109s were parked inside the Zeppelin hangar.

Here's the rest of the photo's.

It seems I am extremely restricted in attaching photo's. Sorry.

Ruy, if you want original unpublished photo's shown on this forum you should seriously reconsider the number of photo's that can be attached by members of this board.

Regards,
Jn

It is not the prime purpose of this forum to attract original unpublished photos, although most if not all of its members do enjoy such interesting material.

The current settings are so because of a number per reasons.

1. to encourage off board hosting;
2. to provide a means to upload material to those who cannot use option 1;
3. to keep forum maintenance reasonable (backup, restore etc).

Having written the above, I have decided to up the limits to 3mb per member, that's about 30 photos of 100k size. If someone has an interest of posting more material, I'd have to set up some special category / user group, with extended posting rights.

Or, set up a separate online image hosting package, ideally with forum membership integration.

Re: JG54 during the "Westfeldzug"

Holá Jan,

thank you again for your postings, great stuff and very much appreciated.
The fourth one of your 2nd set shows the tail fin and rudder of bf109e-3
flown by Oblt Hans Philipp, Staffelkapitän 4.JG54 and the victory bars show exact the 20 victories he achieved until 20th Oct 1940 and won him the Ritterkreuz (2nd of JG 54). It was awarded to him 4th November 1940.

More soon

Re: JG54 during the "Westfeldzug"

The rudder with 14 vics is probably that of Paul Hier - possibly even the machine he killed in as the WNr. 1501 looks to be mostly visible. So who flew 'white 4'?

Also in the Trautloft War Diary there is another Phillip photo which actually shows the back edge of the code to his machine - looks like a 9.
