Junkers G.24 WL-WHW?
Hello,
Currently on ebay is a photo of a Junkers G.24 with the code WL-WHW https://www.ebay.it/itm/176032435509...IAAOSwioRlU4v3 It appears that there is a letter missing ? Perhaps I'm posting an obvious question and this machine is well known. But can anyone explain the unusual code and given that it has at least the WL prefix, presumably it is a Luftwaffe machine, so has anyone any information on the unit (s) that operated this aircraft? Regards, Clint |

Re: Junkers G.24 WL-WHW?
I think this is a kind of advertising for the German "Winterhilfswerk" Organization, abbreviated WHW.
The plane is apparently no longer airworthy. |
Re: Junkers G.24 WL-WHW?
I agree. This is not part of the usual registration process and the aircraft at this time of mid/late 1939 is quite old for it to be in service. The source photo most likely represents a propaganda drive to raise funds this location being at Zeltweg.
