Re: RAF Wings in Italy, 1944-45
Hi
Here is what I have. Note that 39 sqn converted to Maruders from dec 44 and cormenced opperation with thes from feb 45. 39 sqn formed an anti-shipping strike wing together with 272 sqn based at Alghero from feb 44, I do not have any number for this wing, dont know it was officially a wing of its own. From 13 july became part of 283 wing together with 16 and 19 sqn SAAF also flying Beaus, under BAF based at Biferno. Cheers Nick |
Re: RAF Wings in Italy, 1944-45
Thank you guys for the very detailed info. Could you please tell me which wings belonged SAAF 25th (B-26) and RAF 680th (Mosquito) squadrons to, also on the Italian theatre in 1944-45. Any higher HQ? Thanks,
Gabor |
