Hptm. Schilling KG30
From the "Deutsche Luftwaffe Losses & Claims book, Part 2. we have:
02.05.1940. I/KG30. Junkers Ju88A. Transfer flight. Engine failure and crashed near Heide, Germany. Hptm. Schilling (B) injured. 3 crewmen injured. Aircraft a write-off. Can anyone confirm if this is the same man as: Hauptmann Wolf-Christian Schilling, Stab III/KG30, died in Res. Laz. Neumünster (56 km south-east of Heide) on 12.07.1940? It seems coincidental to have 2 Hptm. Schilling's from KG30 in 1940. Thank you for any help. |
Re: Hptm. Schilling KG30
Strangely the NVM just mentions Funksmaat Heinrich Mueller, Fw Helmut Mangold and Uffz Johannes Koelschbach of 3./KG 30 being injured due to an engine failure on on a non-operational flight

Re: Hptm. Schilling KG30
Not the same. The wounded Beobachter was Hptm Hellmuth Schilling.
