With deep sadness, we inform you that 104-year-old airman Lt Mieczysław Frąckiewicz, aka John Franklin, passed away today. He was a wireless operator with No. 304 Polish Bomber Squadron.
Over 17,000 airmen served in the Polish Air Force in the UK during WWII. Lt. Frąckiewicz was probably the last and the oldest Polish RAF aircrew member in Great Britain.
Thank you for your service, Sir![*]
