He-111 === s/d: 11.09.1939 - Warsaw
 

A Polish captain shows American photographer and cameraman Julien Bryan (1889 – 1974) fragments of the German Heinkel He 111 bomber that crashed on September 11, 1939, on a slope near Dynasy Street in Warsaw.

Standing at the gate is one of D. Bryan's two assistants, an American of Polish descent, Stanley Kubicz.

Does anyone know the composition of this He111 J (B7+GA) crew (Wettererkundungsstaffel 1 (Westa 1) (Lfl. 1)) ?

Hello Kris.

The crew of this a/c consisted of FF(?) Fw. Gottfried Braun, BO Regierungsrat Dr. Bernold Schmidt (Meteorologist), BF(?) Fw. Christian Obermeyer and BM(?) Uffz. Kurt Sgaga. All were killed.
