Stettin and Königsberg

It is to night 80 years since Bomber Command destroyed the centre of Stettin and burned down the centre of Königsberg.

It was also 80 years ago today that under the pressure of Allied advances the Luftwaffe ordered the withdrawal of its bomber units from French and Belgian bases to airfields in Holland and Germany.

Hi, but don't forgot Koenigsberg, labiau, Dansk was bombing from 23-24 June 1941 Russian Long range bomber, starting in Leningrad zone.

Thanks for the reminder. My dad's family were bombed out of their home in Hufen that day, and then a short while later became refugees during the ethnic cleansing of eastern Europe. Something to keep in mind in light of current events.
