Nightfighter victory over RAF bomber- help needed

I was recently approached by a local person whose father was killed in action while serving on bombers during WW2. He asked if I could find out any more information about his father's loss, so here are the details he gave to me:
9 Squadron, Lancaster III WS-Z Serial: ED834
His father was Sgt. Leslie John Daker, Flight Engineer
Took off from Bardney, Lincolnshire for Dusseldorf on the night of 25th/26th May 1943.
Shot down by Nightfighter 2Kms. from Vlissingen (Flushing). Bodies of the crew were washed ashore and buried in Vlissingen.

Can anyone identify the Nightfighter unit, or even the German pilot concerned, for him? Any help would be appreciated, as Nightfighter units are not my forte.

I have posted the same information in the Luftwaffe Forum in the hope of giving comprehensive coverage to his query.

According Tony Woods´Web-Site, pilots of NJG 1 claimed 7 Lancasters, 5 Wellingtons, 2 Halifaxes and 7 Stirlings during this night.

According to this source it could be Hpt. Werner Hopf or Oblt. Hermann Greiner.

I think it was Hopf, too, but there is about 20 min gap beetwen time when ED834 gone down (1. lostbombers.co.uk - 3.22 hrs., 2. http://www.hoebeke.com/en/detail-NV.php3?recordID=200 - 3.25) and Hopf's victory (3.42 - according to reichwest_vol4_1943 by Tony Wood).
Why?
