Luftwaffe Losses near Amiens 13 Jan 44
On this date, Typhoons of 198 Sqn claimed two Bf 109s (identities know) and two Goelands. One crash near Poix and was stated as having a mixture of German and Vichy camo while a second was shot down 15 miles away probably the Goeland from 16./KG 2 which crashed at Conty bei Fransures, 19 km SE of Poix. Matti has just the one Goeland lost this day so does anyone have an idea of the one near Poix?

Hello Chris,
according to Jagdfliegerverbände Vol. 13/III the Typhoons of 198 Sqn claimed 8 victories: 3 Ju 88, 1 Ar 96, 2 Bf 109 and 2 Goelands (footnote 59, source Foreman: Fighter Command War Diaries, Part 4, page 177). Actually there were four German losses: 3 Ju 88 of 11./KG 6 and 1 Caudron of Transportstaffel II./Fliegerkorps (footnote 60). The II./JG 2 encountered the Typhoons, 1 Bf 109 G-6 was damaged. Thanks Leo I am only interested in the 6 Typhoons led by Sqn Ldr Johnnie Baldwin which claimed 2 x Goelands (Poix and Conty) and 2 x Bf 109 Es (Caix and Le Quesnel). It is the one at Poix near the airfield shot down by Sqn Ldr John Bryan which vexes me
