Dr. Yasuho Izawa - Optician and Aviation Historian

I was just informed by Sam Tagaya that Dr. Yasuho Izawa passed on May 13, 2024.

He is perhaps best known for the English language editions of his two books on Japanese aces that he wrote with Ikuhiko Hata.

Japanese Naval Aces and Fighter Units in World War II (1989 & 2012)

Japanese Army Air Force Units and Their Aces, 1931–1945 (2002 & 2011)

I hope to locate and post a full obituary soon.
