25.08.40 RAF claims
 

Hi,

I`m looking for a claim against a single German bomber off the East Coast.
The claimant should be a part of convoy escort force. Perhaps anybody could help here?

Our friend Geoffrey Sinclair offers the following

AIR 16/960 Fighter Command

0125 29 Sqn Blenheim, 1 He111 Probable Humber.
1704/1844 602 Sqn, 3 Spitfires 1 Do17 destroyed SW St Goven (Gowen?) light ship.
1807/1825 32 Sqn, 2 Hurricanes, 1 Hs126 damaged mid channel.

Other claims were fighters or seem to be overland, total claims 49/17/17

29 Sqn's claim was obviously overnight 24-25 but was north-east coast while the 32 and 602 Sqn claims were Dungeness and Dorchester areas respectively so can be discounted
