RAF in Norway in 1940
 
Which Sqns of the RAF were based in Norway in 1940 and where? Did they use Norweigan airstrips or airfields?

Larry. only 2.... 46 Sqn (Hurricanes) to Skanland ( temporary strip) 26 May then Bardufoss (permanent field) on 27th.

263 Sqn (Gladiators) to Lake Lesjagkog (frozen) 24th April returning UK on the 26th. then back to Bardufoss 21 May with detachment at Bodo (temporary strip).
Both sqns. aboard "Glorious" by 8th June. Links......
Air components (p.267). RAF narrative (Air Ministry). 3rd. one has good maps.

The book "Fledgling Eagles" also deals with the RAF and FAA in Norway 1940.
