German Wartime newspaper and casualty lists
hello
wondering if anyone with any experience might know off ahnd did German newspapers publish casualty lists or family notices of death of members of the services? https://www.deutsche-digitale-bibliothek.de/ starting searching the database above and wondering am I wasting my time |

They did publish notices of those killed but as the numbers increased the amount published was reduced for propaganda/morale purposes.

Of course, getting accurate figures when a country is collapsing can be a challenge, as evidenced by today's Ukraine figures.

Thanks guys, I'm only looking for the 1940-1942 period but even so, thats a vast sea of death to try search in.
