Man O Man, I guess I just fail to see what makes this photo so valuable? is it somthing in the background? or the only know photo of an Ace's aircraft? or does sombody out there just have too much money?

Wow, what a price !!

I think it is not fair to use Sniper software, but what can dou do about it.

It all finally comes up to what you are preparing to pay for a photo. Using Sniper software or not, you will always have to estimate what price another person is willing to pay.

Btw, I met L.H. lately and he speaks highly about you. He calls you one of the top experts on a certain subject. Thought you might be pleased to hear that from a neutral person.

So John or Jan, any thoughts what makes this seemingly mundane photo so valuable? or does the Sniper software have a setting that allows the operator to win no matter what, even if another bidder is on to it, and drives the price up intentionally? turning a $6.00 photo into a Rembrandt? and causing the Sniper operator to pay through his nose.... because another smart person...or seller caught on to the game?
Just thinking the Sniper may have been caught at his own game here.

I really don't see what the issue is with prices for pics or anything else on ebay. Apparently $486 was the going price that day, simple.
I see a lot of people complaining about high prices and that they can't afford them. Well, everyone can't afford a Ferrari either, should Enzo lower the prices as well?

I bid on stuff all the time without "bid snipe". I use a device called a clock, if you look at it you can figure out when to put in a last second bid.

I would suggest bidding in the last few seconds, bid the most "YOU" are willing to pay and see what happens. Bid snipe isn't magic, if you put in the highest bid you "WILL" win.

I recently won an original F4U-4 Corsair factory manual for $11.00 because the other fools only bid $9 or $10 dollars. I put in one bid of $185 because that was "MY" max price. You can't lowball and think you're going to win.
The very next week another copy of the same Corsair manual sold for $242.

It's a world market out there, bid large, bid to crush!

I have also never heard any of the complainers say, "I won't accept that much money for my pic/item, it's to much. Let me give some back".

I have no issue with any price paid on e-bay, I was just highlighting this one, as two people used a very high bid late on.

This is the first Bf 109 E-7 I have seen of III./ZG 1 (S9+CS) which has part of the unit code overpainted with the 'Jabo' emblem used by other 109 units in the Med area. Whether this aircraft was transferred to one of those units when III./ZG 1 was disbanded, I know not. But that emblem on a III./ZG 1 109 is rather rare.

Not entering the price debate, an interesting desert camouflaged Me 109 is seeing. Is it a rather different number 2 or, as I guess, an underlined 9 ?

come on man, take a praise when it is presented to you ! LH seems not the man who tells lies. Anyway he really thinks highly about you. And I believe this is certainly a compliment from a man with many books on his name. He recounted his last contacts with you and Wim can testify that what I have said is true.

Isn't it a fact that you were the only one who could explain why the photo regarding this topic is indeed special and rare ?!!
