Oblt Hermann Kroll

I am after a photo of this enigmatic pilot who was awarded RK with 7.(F)/LG 2 and killed over the Channel with 1./121 25-26 Apr 44. Some records state that he was buried at sea while there is a Hermann Kroll buried at Cannock Chase. He was also credited with a number of victories over Russia? Also was he involved in a mid-air over Belgium with another Bf 110 from 7.(F)/LG 2 on 2 Oct 40?

Hi Chris. Why do you call him enigmatic?
Kroll was a successful Bf 110 pilot in 7.(F)/LG 2, flew in this Staffel 1939-42. He allegedly shot down 20 russian planes with the BF110 according German press releases, but dates of this victories are not known.
Mainly for this and successful recon and ground attack sorties he was awarded the KC, handed over by GenOb von Kleist. Later he flew Me410 in 1.(F)/121,led this unit since Sep 43 when Oblt. Lutsch went missing.
Kroll was shot down by Mosquito NF while attacking ships near Portsmouth. His Bordfunker baled out and survived, Kroll unfotunately not. He is buried at Cannock Chase so his body was recovered.
Midair collision near Brussels 2 Oct40 is right, his 110 collided with another one, he bailed out while in the other plane two persons were killed.
I have some pics of him in my collection, so please give me your email adress via PN.

Enigmatic can mean mysterious so flying as long as he did and shooting down so many aircraft with no details supports this. PM to follow
