Uffz Reinhard Ehrlich 6/JG - 1
Hello guys, I am currently researching Uffz Reinhard Ehrlich 6/JG - 1, he was shot down in Aerial combat flying a FW190 on November 29th 1943. Awarded fighter operational clasp. I was wondering if anyone had any more information on this flyer; or details of his mission when he was shot down.
Many thanks Ben |
Re: Uffz Reinhard Ehrlich 6/JG - 1
Crashed on 29.11.1943 in Northsea. He later was recovered and buried in Wittmund. So probably crashed in German territory of Northsea. The report on 3.12.43 was:
"Uffz. Ehrlich startete am 29.11.43 allein zu einem Feindflug. Er hatte Befehl bei De Kooi (Holland) freie Jagd zu fliegen. E. kehrte von diesem Feindflug nicht zurück. Eine Aufschlagstelle wurde bisher noch nicht gefunden." He was reported KIA on 20.12.43, so apparently he was recovered by that date. |

Re: Uffz Reinhard Ehrlich 6/JG - 1
Hello John, thank you very much for taking the time to look for this information. My only other question that I have is there a site where i can look to see if he had any kills made and was it with the same unit 6/JG-1.
Kind regards Ben |
Re: Uffz Reinhard Ehrlich 6/JG - 1
I could not find any Abschüsse for Uffz. Ehrlich.
Strangely the KTB II./JG 1 reports something else for this loss. Here it says that he participated in the Gruppe Einsatz with take off at 13.40 hrs from Rheine. Apparently Uffz. Ehrlich crashed 15 km west of Emden and washed ashore on 4.2.1944. |
Re: Uffz Reinhard Ehrlich 6/JG - 1
Thank you for your help John, it is strange that there are now three different reports on locations where this pilot lost his life. But I believe that this is the correct report. I do understand that a few Jg1 were killed on this day.
again many thanks Ben |
