RAF Coastal Command Wellington loss near Juist on 13/14 January 1945?

Dear all,

I have recently obtained new evidence on the shooting down of a (Coastal Command?) Wellington into the sea some 20 km north of Juist Island on 13/14 January 1945, to be exact at 18.26 hrs. Who can tell me the identity of this Allied aircraft?

Cheers and thanks for any details, Theo

Thanks to Geoffrey Sinclair, this case has been solved. The aircraft in question was 524 Squadron Wellington HZ644, which was posted missing during an armed reconnaissance of the convoy routes off the Frisian Islands.

Cheers, Theo

Since the incident is not reported in your Nachtjagd Combat Archive (as far as I can see),
who/what caused the Wellington to crash?

Correct Stig; I only recently found the info of an Abschussmeldung by Fw. Koppe of 7./NJG2, which matches the Coastal Command Wellington loss perfectly.
