Hans-Martin Markhoff

Hans-Martin Markhoff had 15 air to air day kills in 150 missions during WWII on the Eastern Front. He survived the war. What did he do after the war? When did he passed away?

Hi Edward

He was born 19th November 1922 and was Günther Rall's wingman, claiming ten victoris over Russian aircraft and witness to fourty-seven of Rall's claims from 21st March 1943(nr.102 until 16th April 1944(nr.273). He then joined 8./JG 4 where he claimed five Allied aircraft(dreimal viermots) from 11th September 1944 until 2nd January 1945.
He died on 22nd November 1990.

Kind Regards

Johannes

Hans-Martin Markhoff

Hi guys

I have seen some information that this fellow worked as an architect after the war ... I have no idea how accurate this is but just to help.

Horrido!

I wrote a mini-bio of him for my 'Day fighter Aces 43-45' based on (lengthy) correspondence he sent to a fellow enthusiast.
