Gus A Engeling USAAF
Does anyone have any more info than in wiki on Gus A Engeling in the USAAF in WW II. After the war he went back to being a game warden and was killed by a poacher in 1951. There is supossidly a movie in the works on his murder ect.

1st Lt Gus A. Engeling (O-660471) appears in Morning Reports for May 1944 as Aerial Instructor with the Army Air Forces Navigation School at Hondo AAF, TX.
ASN at time of enlistment (8 Oct 1941) as Aviation Cadet was 38057407. He was placed in the navigation class of the Air Corps Replacement Training Center at Ellington Field, Houston, TX. Regards, Leendert |

Just to add that according this document (https://airforcehistoryindex.org/data/000/493/288.xml) a Grumman SA-16 Albatross of the 5th Air Rescue Squadron (Ellington AFB) helped in the search for Engeling's whereabouts after his disappearance.

I forgot to add that Engeling's killer was tried, convicted and died in the Texas electric chair AKA "Old sparky" which is currently on display in the Texas Prison Museum in Huntsville Texas. Goggle search the museum and you can see a picture of it. Also in Huntsville there is the Hearts Veteran Museum. I realize not too many people would be interested in the above.
