Strange He 177 Werknummer
30011 and 30013 do not seem to fit in known He 177 Werknummer blocks.
https://ibb.co/TCDkykK https://ibb.co/yFPmsKTV Kind of 'internal' Heinkel numbers? regards, Pawel |
Re: Strange He 177 Werknummer
Hello Pawel,
According to Heinkel expert Volker Koos 'Der Weg zur Heinkel He177' Heinkel Oranienburg produced 32001 up and including 32015, so there is a reasonable chance that 30011 and 30013 were produced there as well since we all know that the RLM put 'blanks' in serial number blocks to conceal the real production output. Best regards, Marcel |
Re: Strange He 177 Werknummer
Marcel, certainly a possibility. Aircraft with 30013 painted on gondola looks like (more or less) He 177 A-3 and was captured by the allies in France. Manfred Griehl identifies it as A-0 32013 DR+IU used by IV./K.G. 40.
Maybe it was kind of clerk error – three and two zeros versus three zero zero – just kidding ;) |
