Mission impossible perhaps - Information concerning the loss of Uffz. Josef Sauer - killed 11.03.45

Hi,

I've bought a sterbebild for a Uffz. Josef Sauer who was killed on the 11.03.45

However this was in Russian captivity.

He was shot down in 1944 over Romania and captured by the Russians.. He was an experienced flier with the EK I and II and Silver Flight Badge. He was a bordfunker.

His death of birth was the 29th Mai 1920.

He joined the Luftwaffe on 2nd October 1939 and eventually joined a bomber squadron and flew over the West and East with his card mentioning Rostock, Thorn and Welzow? It also mentions he took part in Krim and Kertsch transport operations?

Maybe a tall order to find out details about his aircraft loss but if anybody can - there's a whole bunch of guys who could discover his story on this site.

Thanks

Rick
