Ofw. Hugobert (Hubert) Langelotz JG 301

Hello

Ofw. Hugobert (Hubert) Langelotz, 10./JG.301 (11./JG.301), FW 190 died in an air battle with American aircraft in the Hagenow area. Which machine did he flew that day?
When was Hubert Langelotz born?
Shot down in April 1945?

Cheers Frank

Hello Frank,

a quote from "LUFTWAFFE IM FOCUS" Vol. 29:
End of April - During an airfield defence flight in support of aircraft of I. and III./JG 301 taking off from Hagenow, Ofw Hugobert Langelotz of 11./JG 301 was killed when his flight was attacked from above by enemy fighters. It is not known if Langelotz was flying a Ta 152 on his occasion.
According to the loss table in Reschke’s JG 301/302 book he flew a Fw 190 A-9.

Regards
Leo

Franek; What do you mean by RAF Zone?

When was OFW Hugobert Langelotz born?
If I know that, I could ask in the Federal Archives for a personnel file

This means that RAF operated in Hagenow area, so must have been RAF fighters, not US.

According 2nd TAF, Vol. 3 (Shores & Thomas) RCAF 401, 402 & 412 Squadrons destroyed and damaged several Fw-190s at Hagenow on 19 April 1945.
So in R(C)AF zone indeed.
