Information concerning the loss of Leutnant Max Schmidberger - killed 23.04.44

Hi,

Can anyone help identify and explain the loss of Leutnant Max Schmidbergerwho was a young pilot - 19 and a half years - who was killed over Dijon on the 23rd April 1944?

Several He-111s were shot down or damaged by RAF Mustangs around Dijon that day .

Max Schmidtberger was shot down in He-111H-15, Wnr. 8255, G1+MW, 12./KG55.

Other crew: (B) Fw. Fock, Walter [gef.] / (Bf) Uffz. Deckers, Jakob [gef.] / (Bf) Uffz. Hecke, Walter [verw.] / (Bs) Uffz. Michalzick, Helmut [gef.]
