He 111 H-3 Minesweeper?
He 111 H-3 Wnr 6810 GD+FH was flown with a minesweepingring at E-Stelle Travemünde in 1943. I'm looking for a picture.

Re: He 111 H-3 Minesweeper?
Can you confirm the WNr?
I think WNr. 6818 was a He111H-2, lost with 6./KG53 as A1+GP on 30 August 1940. |
Re: He 111 H-3 Minesweeper?
Agree with Andy, Jörn
GD+FH was not a STKZ assigned to Trawemünde, so must have been given to the aircraft somewhere else. It is not mentioned in the German book Secret Flight Test Centres to 1945 Cheers Stig |
Re: He 111 H-3 Minesweeper?
I made an error as to Wnr.
Travemünde Monatsbericht Mai 1943. Versuche mit der He 111 H-3 Wnr 6810 with minesweeping ring. Juni 1943 aircraft with Reperaturwerk Saarpfalz Speyer. Juli 1943 He 111 H-16 NN+BU is getting the ring from He 111 H-3 GD+FH. Junker |
Re: He 111 H-3 Minesweeper?
That explains it Jörn
Got nothing for WNr 6810 or STKZ GD+FH However NN+BU was WNr 8208 and was a E-Stelle Rechlin aircraft and is said to have received its MS ring when repaired at Stendal (together with a FuG 200) in July 1943. It was used for testing until w/o 24 May 1944 Cheers Stig |
Re: He 111 H-3 Minesweeper?
There is nothing about a FuG 200 in these reports about MS.
My information all comes from E-Stelle original reports. Junker |
Re: He 111 H-3 Minesweeper?
I think WNr.6810 was also a He111H-2.
The first He111H-3 WNr was 6819 according to Koos. |
Re: He 111 H-3 Minesweeper?
Rechlin clearly write H-3 Wnr. 6810 more than once.
