ristol Beaufort - External Plumbing Query

Outboard of the engines on the underside of the wing of every Beaufort was what appears to be a faired tube running horizontally beneath the wing but which then concludes by sweeping diagonally downwards and ending in an opening.

Two questions
What please was the function of this arrangement?
Where is this described in a published work?

Grateful for all help.

Are you referring to the engine exhaust?

or the fuel jettison?

A book that may help is Richard A. Franks' "The Bristol Beaufort - A Technical Guide"
(Valiant Airframe Detail No. 10).

Re: ristol Beaufort - External Plumbing Query

Many thanks, Revi16. I think it has to be the fuel jettison then. Curious that there was nothing like this on the Beaufighter.

Nick, I first bought a copy of Richard A. Franks: "The Bristol Beaufort - A Technical Guide" but did not find this feature covered there. (More wasted money.)
