PERS 6 will be closed end of January 2026 for transfer to Berlin.

If you need some PERS 6 files please do not wait too long.

Interesting I was previously advised that the PERS 6 files were not available from 1/9/25 with transfer to Tegel in January 2026. Theoretically they were to be available again from July 2026. This infers a change in the timeline.

There was a change in the timelines last minute. Whether they are available in 2026 is another matter especially as there will have to be new researchers

Thanks. I also agree about 2026. The BA-PA doesn't seem particularly focused on supporting researchers.

I would be surprised if it is possible to see any files before 2027-28 and the reading room in Tegel is very small. I guess that you have to order the files to Berlin-Licherfelde.

I had the local student I use make an enquiry in the Lesesaal. From what he was told I'd recommend anyone needing a PERS 6 file to get their request in before Christmas.

He was also able to confirm that the Fliegerkarteikarten (index cards) will also be transferred to Berlin.

To make matters worse, the archive is closed 17 December to 7 January........

Not entirely unexpected given the time of year!

Thanks for the pointer though. The stay of execution at least enabled me to get some files copied for a couple of friends but I think that will be that for quite a while.

Either they are uploading or already shut... trying to access RW59 Verleihungsliste and Stellenbeseztung sub directories' and they are not accessible since around 18:00 as of yesterday.
