Air battle May 12, 1944???
 

Hello!
I asked about this years a go in the "old" forum, maybe with all the new knowledge some of You can help me now.

The matter concerns a Gefreiter Ernst Eggerdinger, a JG pilot who was killed in an airbattle on the above date.
I have looked in books, loss lists and so on, but i cannot find him anywhere....
I realize it is a long shot, but I would like to find out something about this pilot. He was the reason, i started collecting death cards several years a go.

I have no loss with the name Gefr. Ernst Eggerdinger at this date.

Hi Christian,

I´m a german WWII photo collector.
Ernst Eggerdinger was born 9th July 1923. I know I´ve had a photo from him. But I don´t know where it is.

May 12 suspiciously matches up with big airbattle between LW and 8th AF on May 12, 1944 - the 'day' the oil campaign started. This also day Rall shot down by Rankin.

I know the 4th and 56th FG had a big engagement round the Frankfurt (?) area (i am away from my references) and possibly 357 and 352 also

The gräbersuche on volksbund.de gives five soldiers with the name Esserdinger but not an Ernst who was born on 09.07.23
