Re: Defense of the Baltic Straits in 1945
Baltic Straits - Skagerrak/Kattegat or Baltic States - Estonia/Latvia/Lithuania?
I assume the former, but could it be somewhere else entirely Martin |
Re: Defense of the Baltic Straits in 1945
That's right, it's Skagerrak and Kattegat.

Re: Defense of the Baltic Straits in 1945
Only I/NJG 3. Northern part of Skagerrak was covered by IV/JG 5 in Norway. In Denmark there was no day fighter units.

Re: Defense of the Baltic Straits in 1945
But what about fighter units in Northern Germany? Would they not have interest in these areas? Who protected the Eastern approaches from the USSR?
Is your interest only on aerial means of defence against aerial attack? |
Re: Defense of the Baltic Straits in 1945
I am interested in the operations of Halifax bombers of 18 Group Coastal Command on the communications in the Skagerrak and Kattegat in 1944-1945. Therefore, information is needed on the opposing German night fighter forces and, preferably, on the results of their operations in 1945.
