This article examines the little-documented history of Imperial Japanese Navy Air Group 331, tracing its deployment from aircraft carrier Junyo to forward bases in Sumatra and the Andaman Islands, and its encounters with Allied aircraft during the air war over the eastern Indian Ocean in 1943–1944."
