Unkown French Airplane Crash 5.Mai 1947

Hello,
an unkown French Airplane with two crewmember crashed that day near Wasserbillig/Luxembourg. One dead, one injured. The plane came from Metz, mybe from the french Fighterunit G.C. "Champagne". The P-47 from "Champagne" used the Airfield at Trier/Mosel (Treves in france language)
I search for any info about the type of airplane and names from the crewmembers.

Bests,
hans

A Luxembourg newspaper of that time provides some more detailed info. See:https://viewer.eluxemburgensia.lu/ar...rticles/DTL154

Pilot's name was Xavier Bardin, killed in the accident.

No reference to type however, other from 'Aufklärungsflugzeug'. In Dutch newspapers it says 'training aircraft'.

Hello Leendert,

thank you for the info! I know the place on detail as I served with Border-Customs on the German side near the town of Wasserbillig/Lux.
It would be possible the airplane was a french version of the Fieseler Fi 156 "Storch"?
Bests,
hans

Hans

There was a Stampe (SNCAN) SV-4C No 212 from GC Champagne which crashed at Wasserbillig, Luxembourg
on that date.

Most likely the one you are looking for.

The only other data I have for the aircraft is that it was delivered to AA in May 1946
