Versuchsverband Ob.d.L. loss, December 1943
According to a KG 200 prisoner taken in North Africa in March 1944: 'A detachment is believed to be in the South of France … a crew from this detachment, piloted by Olt. Nikolai, was lost on 24/12/43 was lost when it flew into a mountain in the South of France.
That seems specific enough to be more than a rumour, so does anyone know more? The best I could find was in the Bundesarchiv stats: one aircraft of the Versuchsverband missing on 20 December 1943 with five crew (one of them an officer). |
