Luftwaffe loss, 23 June 1944 NW France / 428th Squadron

Hi, Please, is it possible to identify a German a/c probably a ME 109 claimed as damaged by 428th Squadron over Chartres (?) area (France). This action took place in the afternoon of 23 June 1944. Claimer : Lt Alvin T. Nelson. Thank you. Phil.

The pilot claiming the Me 109 damaged was 1 Lt. Robert G. Nelson. He made the claim at approximately 1440 hours northwest of Malaine (coordinate Y2153). Doesn't help with the German unit, however.

Again, being 1944 and if there were no personnel casualties, identifying the possible victim will be hard. From an initial check, Allied fighters claimed 50 German aircraft destroyed, probably destroyed or damaged this day of which 22 were claimed as damaged
