BOB Staffelkapitäen in Aufkl.Gr.Ob.d.L.
 

I am trying to establish who served as Staffelkapitän in Aufkl.Gr.Ob.d.L. during the Battle of Britain period, and I am coming up with conflicting dates in sources, including deZeng and Stankey's Luftwaffe Officer Career Summaries. What I have at present are:

1 Staffel: Oblt Edmund Forster 13.08.40 – 06.10.42

2 Staffel: Oblt Josef Kleine*-Rüschkamp 10.05.40 – 31.07.40, then Maj Friedrich Prager 01.08.40-1941

3 Staffel: Oblt Karl-Edmund Gartenfeld 05.05.40 – 1943
3 Staffel: Oblt Fritz Schürmeyer 01.02.39 – 17.03.41 - which is correct?

4 Staffel: Major Alfred Wenz 10.10.39 – 21.09.40 followed by? Also one sources has Hptm. Hans Wolff (May 40 - Jan 41)

The Luftwaffe Officer Career Summaries also have an entry for Major Joachim Albrecht Bauer, appt Staka in Aufkl.Gr. Ob.d.L. 05.09.40 – 24.10.40, but without identifying the Staffel, possibly the Stab?

Any thoughts?

The problem you have is this unit was created from other units and some of the Staffel operated independently. 4 Staffel was formed from 2./121 in October 1939 St Kap being Maj Alfred Wenz and then Maj Prager. Some records then say that it became 2 Staffel. Clues might be with who signed the NVM

I have also Hptm Hans Schech taking over 1 Staffel late 1940 and have photos of him around that time
