Information concerning loss of Alois Heilmeier - killed 22.08.1940

Hi,

Can anyone provide information on the loss of pilot Alois Heilmeier who was a pilot in a fighter squadron and killed on the 22nd August 1940?

He was only 23 and I wondered if he was involved in the battle against the Britian in the summer of 1940?

Many thanks

Rick

Hi Rick,

on 6 Aug 1940 the II./JG 52 was stationed at the airfield Peuplingues between Calais and Wissant. On 11 Aug they flew the first operations against Britain. On 18 Aug the unit tranferred to Jever. Therefore Uffz Heilmann was involved only one week in the Battle of Britain.
