Ju 88 victory over Jack H Carr 813121 Pilot KIA P-51 43-7065 Wild Bill
Jack H Carr 813121 Pilot KIA P-51 43-7065 Wild Bill (354th Fighter Group 356th Fighter Squadron) enemy aircraft return fire from Ju88 crashed Ehlingen Gr. 10 km NE Wassertruedingen Gr. 25-04-1944 09:06 MACR 4424 J-975
Green Two fell in behind him and they started closing rapidly on the plane which turned out to be a Ju-88. Green Four closed in very rapidly from dead astern, fired and to avoid overrunning the ship, pulled away to one side. Green Two, Lt. Carr, pulled in behind the Ju-88 and fired getting many hits on the wings and fuselage. The Ju-88 pushed the nose sharply down and Lt. Carr appeared to follow when suddenly Lt. Carr's plane disintegrated. I did not see a 'chute open or any pieces large enough to recognize." Harry E. Fisk 1st Lt., Air Corps. What Ju88? any claims? Thank you. |
