Bookstores in Dusseldorf

Could anybody recommend any worth visiting military book store in Dusseldorf? Especially if it deals with aviation and WWII items.

TIA

Hi, Jan!

That will be much appreciated! I don't know if I could spare some time from PSI fair this January to get to Koln. But nevertheless. Is it situated somewhere near the train stations?

Yes,

it is within walking distance from main train station. I will ask my friend for exact address. I saw it, but the shop was closed (I found it in early evening).

If you will have some more time in center, I reccomend Roman museum:

www.museenkoeln.de

The museum was built on the walls of a Roman villa which was discovered in 1941 and which contained the world-famous Dionysos mosaic. The discovery was done during construction excavations related to air raid shelter. The mosaic is spectacular.

I was in Koeln a few years ago and the big Mayersche Buchhandlung store (on the Neumarkt) had a decent military section, including a lot of Motorbuch Verlag stuff.

Also, check out bookshops in general for books about the war period or "Die NS-Zeit" (National Socialist era) in that particular town or region. I've seen some interesting ones.

Re: Bookstores in Dusseldorf

concerning Düsseldorf-there is a good sorted bookstore at the airport near the visitors terrace;
they had several rare books in store when I last visited them last year-amongst them the ultra rare (at least here in Austria) Chris Goss book "Brothers in Arms" for a mere 25 Euros;

so if you need a good store in DüDo, just have a look there :)

cheers
