Bf 109 downed over Beltsy (Moldavia) on 22.06.1941

Hi All,

On 22.06.1941 during intercept mission about 13:30 over Beltsy Airbase one Bf 109 was reported shot down by capt F.Atrashkevich from 55 IAP flying MiG-3. The pilot of Bf 109 was captured.

Can anyone help with posible identification of this claim? On LW loss-list on 22.06.1941 I can't find anything... :( Maybe it was a Romanian Aircraft?

Hi,

the only loss on 26.06.41 of JG77 is:

stab/JG77 Lt.Hubert Ebeling MIA Flak, west of Balti, FSA Bf109E-7 1092 100%

It seems that he bailed out and could be taken POW.
It`s also possible that this combat took place a fews days later.

No, it wasn't. However, misidentification of enemy aircraft types was common, on both sides.
