Luftwaffe erkennungsmarken - issuing system
 

Hi, guys.

Haven't really done much on this issue, but the question regarding an Erkennungemarke here earlier made me check my database, and I found that the system at least in 1942/43 in the fighter units I research are quite simple:

Gruppe code
Staffel code
Individual personnel no

For example, the '53137' is IV./J.G.5
In this unit at the time, 10. Staffel is Staffel code 'A', 11. Staffel is 'B' and 12. Staffel is 'C'.

Thus, a given individual would have the Erkennungsmarke 53137 B/3 would indicate the third individual Erkennungsmarke issued by the 11. Staffel of JG 5 in this series.

Have anyone tried to set this into system before, does a list of the E-marke issue series exist?

Hi

RLM OBL 17.02.40 introduct a new code system for Flyiers and paratroopers .
Code nummer issued from Mob-hauplisten-nummer (mob for mobilisierung) is substitued to shortened name of the unity .

New platte was given to personals and old are restitued to autority
His form (difficult to destroy by fire, use iron and unfire cord was order by Besondere Lufftwaffenbestimmungen or BLB from 25.10.40 .

A new code 5/6 numerals was introduct and one new number of platte (EM-Nr)was given .
This code has nothing common with feldpostnummers, but are issueds from Mob-Hauptliste-nummer.
exemples:
53430 is 2./Fallschirmjäger-Ersatz-Bat 3
62565 is 12./KG40
62571 is 6./FallschirmJäger-Ersatz-Reg 1
63127 is 11./Fallschirmjäger-Ersatz-Reg 1
215967 is Fallschirmjäger-schüle 2
I don't know if a complet list for Mob-nummers exist,
Perhaps somewhere in Bama Files
I know specials books exists in Germany ...
